* turn your "shoulds" to "musts"
7 Steps to Conscious Change:
1. Get Disturbed.
a. get honest w/self;
b. get associated to the prob;
c. surround yourself w/people who have what you want
EXERCISE - How do you rationalize? -List at least 5 rationalizations you use for not following thru. the antidote to self rationalization is honesty.
(what are the most common reasons you fail to do things? what stories do you tell yourself?)
- I don't have enough time to complete it - i can start it, but might not have time to finish it... i'll do it later when i have more time to complete it;
- I want to do it together with my wife so we can be on the same page and support each other thru it;
- I woke up too late to start, i'll do it tomorrow!
- I can't start without my wife...
- It's too hot/cold to start.
- I want to start off with a clean slate - the conditions aren't good enough to start;
- I'm not ready;
- I might fail;
- I'm afraid after all that I do, my results will not show for it;
- I'm afraid that after all that i do, nothing will happen;
- If I improve, I will have less to improve and less to show for and that will diminish my "wow" factor/value;
- If I am always operating at optimum levels, I'll have to keep up those high standards all the time - that will take more time to perform... everyone will expect more from me

* momentum and chunking is a powerful way to fight rationalization;
* push thru your comfort zone;
